Melissa Etehad is an Iranian-American journalist. She holds a Master of Science from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.

She enjoys writing about foreign affairs and has previously reported from Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan and Greece. Her stories focus on the intersections of politics, religion, gender and migration.

Melissa has previously worked at Al Jazeera English and The Washington Post. Her worked has been published and featured on The Washington Post, Al Jazeera English, IranWire, Al Jazeera America, Muftah Magazine, Your Middle East and others.

She’s currently an independent journalist based in Los Angeles, California.
